  1. hah (just at 0:56), I started to wire brush and chemically strip a bike frame some years ago, ended up bringing it to a local sandblaster and was happy to part with the money. stripper is nasty stuff.

  2. Wow! That turned out great! Congratulations on turning the bike into a beauty! As a bonus, it now matches Gregor! Always good to see him pop up in a video – and I didn't even spot any cathairs in the paintjob! 😀 I'm looking forward to part 3!

  3. Wow – that was interesting to watch! Just tried to strip and repaint an old frame a couple of weeks ago and the stripping took FOREVER… BTW do you use a special flux / solder for aluminum frames?

  4. Looks great! I personally have no affinity for those gold and copper tones, but this did turn out great if you’re into that kinda thing 😂… whatcha gonna do to keep the rust from progressing internally?

  5. Back in 2018 I refinished a beach cruiser. Took about 2 hours to get off all of the old paint and primer. Sometime after that, "they" outlawed the ingredient that made chemical pealing quick and easy. In Nov of 2024, I must have spent two weekends trying to remove paint on a 1990's Raleigh. Gave up on the ineffective Orange Goo and just bought from ACE Hardware a brass brush for my hand drill and took off the paint that way. NEVER AGAIN. I will do a scuff up and paint-over before I waste 2 weekends of my life taking off old OEM paint.

  6. Last frame I did this to was a 94 Fuji road bike. I had really good results with a brush-on citrus based stripper. Cheap and not too smelly, probably less toxic.

  7. In my very limited spray-painting experience, anything with flakes or bits in it should not be stored long term, buy it and use it. I suspect that over time the particulates start clumping, and then they block things up. Bike is looking good though with that new color! Good work!

  8. Well for most of the video my cat sat and watched with me, he was entranced by all the sanding😂 I guess you’ve got a new subscriber although I’m not sure he has any taco money…
