Since joining the fold I show anyone who tells me that I could I've bought something way cheaper these pictures and they then agree with me why the Brompton is best choice. I owned the tern b7 which cost me £200, which was very awkward to carry around train stations. Often ending up with grease all over my clothes. Now with the Brompton and rack it's a breeze. I can sit anywhere on the bus upstairs compared to the tern where I could only use the wheelchair space. Now the tern is only used during wet weather rides.

I must admit that Brompton is still “Champions League” when it comes to quality and folding mechanism, but I’ve recently used a Decathlon Fold 1 Second for a couple of days and I must say that it really comes close in terms of compact measurements and mechanism!

  2. Based on potential resale value alone, I have long felt that a Brompton is actually the ‘cheaper’ option among folding bikes.
