Im seeing this bike being sold for a seemingly good price. All i need this bike for is to get to work, which is about 20 minutes away biking. I dont want to buy a brand new one since its out of my budget.

Probably not? Positives: cheap, frame looks solid. Negatives: Lack of index shifting, and potentially oddball wheel and tire size. The chain looks like it needs to be replaced. Not a big deal, but signals maybe a lack of maintenance. In general, this is probably more a bike for someone who is a real DIY bike nerd, and can identify problems with the bike before buying it, and do the maintenance. That said, at $45, if you can take a test ride, and fits well, and shifts well, and it runs well, it is not a huge gamble.
Epic bike! The best bike I ever had was a Schwinn Suburban very similar. It lived in the backyard for 15 years, I rode it daily and only had one flat. Once you get those heavy bikes up to speed they zip. Keep the tire pressure high and enjoy!
If where you live is flat, buy it

My two cents, this is an excellent first bike. Make sure it fits and the wheels spin freely and true. Also, important, Google friction shifting to make sure you’re comfortable with how this particular bike changes gears.
