Does anyone know if there’s a threaded insert in this hole and if so, what the thread size would be? This is a 2019 Revolt 0. I bought the Giant rack that’s supposed to fit this bike but the screw that came with it seems to be cross-threading when I tighten it.

It looks like a rivnut is installed there, and if that’s the case then it is likely threaded for an M5 bolt.

Before installing a bolt in that hole, you should first clean out the hole with a rag, then get some grease on the threads. Then put a bit of grease on the threads of the bolt, and then try screwing in the bolt with just your fingers (no tools). Once you can get the bolt to go in using just hand power, you can take the bolt out and then proceed with the rack install.
