Some info about me: I’m a beginner biker looking for an endurance road bike (mostly riding on city roads). I’m a size 52. I don’t know much about bike models but have been told I should look for disc brakes and pay attention to gear sets.
Frankly this bike is a bit more than I wanted to pay but it is one of the models I heard is good for endurance bikes. I will probably have to swap out the bike seat for something more suited to me (am a woman)
Also, can someone explain to me what the groupset and crankset mean?

sorry i forgot to put the PRICE
priced at $650
Take it. Cool bike. Love those older Roubaix. Check frame make sure no crack or damage on it
My 2 cents, anything under 300$ is a decent price. If you’re a beginner this bike will be just fine if it fits you well. Take it for a spin, shift through all the gears, see how it feels and if it makes you happy riding it. Make sure it’s comfortable. Shimano 105 is decent too. You’re a beginner, don’t buy into the “you need this” mentality. The only thing you need is a bike that won’t break the bank, break you or break itself. Shimano 105 works. And it’s reliable too. For your peace of mind, I’d get a tuneup that you pay for. That will cost you around 200$ but it’s peace of mind. I bought a 2006 trek 1500 for 100$ and I’ve ridden the crap out of it. Mind you, old bikes need love. New bikes need love too. You gotta take care of your machine. Rim brakes are just fine. Unless you’re careening down a mountain or riding in the rain consistently, you don’t need disc brakes. Rim brakes will stop on a dime if properly set up. Ride fast, take chances, have fun and carry some basic tools and a spare tube, no matter what bike you decide on.
$650 is too high for that bike. It’s nice, but it’s 15 years old. You could get something a lot newer for that price.
Also groupset is the gears in the back, crankset is up front.
