Just returned from a 12 days trip. Loved the different microclimates that you are passing through. Day 2 started in a place where even the cacti die from dehydration, only to end completely soaked in a very green place. (Turns out my softshell doesn’t repell rain as well as I thought, d’oh!)
We flew to Gran Canaria, and then crossed starting from Maspalomas through the island, took the ferry to Santa Cruz de Tenerife and then crossed east to west through Teneriffe.
Highly recommended for bikepacking, we really loved our time there.

Fantastic photos! Tenerife is incredible, I was there last year doing the pavement climbs. I saw all the dirt roads and was curious…I would love to go back for some bikepacking and like the other commentator I am curious about the details of your route.

Nice – how easy was flying with your bike and the whole experience at the Teneriffa airport? Thanks

Wow, I’ve been told my ancestors lived in the Canary Islands.

Dude, this looks great! I just bought my 2 week flight with my bike to lanzarote last week.
I will do another island other than lanzarote. Which one did you prefer – Tenerife or Gran Canaria?
