Not exactly Xbiking but thought the tall guys would appreciate this. 6’6” Otis Guy hammering a 21-22” frame. Even at the time, this was considered way too small.

This is more or less how I look like on my Trek 930. It has medium frame but with extended handlebar and seat post isn’t very comfy and it suits my riding very well. See my post for its pictures.

You do know Otis Guy built these frames himself?

Why do you say it was considered too small? That is a custom frame he built for himself. Looks about right for that era. I’m 5’ 11” and when there were still horizontal top tubes I fit a 20” (like my mid-80 fillet brazed Ritchey). Later in the mid-90s I was on a 19.5” Trek 950, then a 19” Bontrager Race and then a 18.5” Ibis Mojo. 135 stems lol

You can chat with Otis at the Mt Tam Bike museum when he’s available. He’s really a very cool guy, very chill and humble.

Did you mean to post this in r/minivelo?

Why are old school mountain bikes so small?
