Doing a test overnighter tomorrow, then GAP/C&O next week. Equal parts excited and scared. Here’s my general gear setup:
Trek FX 3 Disc (700×35 Gravelking tires)
Revelate gas tank bag
Apidura seat bag (mostly my clothes)
Salsa half frame bag (emergency stuff and 2L water bladder)
Harness (not sure the brand, borrowing from a friend) w/ OR drybag (sleeping bag, pad, and pillow) and my tent.

I haven’t ridden it yet, but the handlebars feel heavy (and the harness looks idiotic). Should I try to put any of that stuff somewhere else?

Everybody’s comfort is different in regard to how they load up, but to me that looks top-heavy in the front. I prefer more of my weight in the front, but lower down by my wheel. Maybe that stuff is light and it’s fine, but that’s my impression.
Have fun on the GAP and C&O! I’ve done it dozens of times. The raccoons at Dravo (last campsite before Pittsburgh) are NO JOKE. Keep your food and gear locked down.
