I’m already riding tubeless but I’m about to upgrade tires and add Cushcore to the rear. I shouldn’t need any tape, but mistakes may happen so I want to be prepared. 😑
I’d recommend 31mm. Will for sure get onto the inner rim wall and allow for a better seal but both will work

I only had 25mm tape to seal a set of 32mm wide rims and it seems to be working fine. I used a few wraps – one down the center, and one down each side. Since it is common to use 2 wraps of a properly sized tape anyway, I see no issues with it. 1mm is too small of a difference to matter.

Tape should be wider than the nominal inner rim width to account for the shape of the rim bed & allow full coverage side to side (+ a bit more).

The tape needs to be wider than the inside rim width to account for the curvature and features. Recommendations are between 2and 5mm wider. In other words, 31 to 34mm tape for your i29 rims

31mm, if you do 30mm your entire frame is liable to explode at a moments notice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
