Had to do some bearings maintenance and this thing is actually a nightmare to mount back.
I’ve noticed that It was going too in deep so I stopped adding torque, disassembled it and mounted it with less torque.
The actual piece (Canyon GP7161-01 Topcap) is not broken and fits in place safely but those 2mm or so where it seems to be too deep in the stem cap actually scares me for my safety.
I saw a similar thread from this subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/comments/o2tr1s/anyone_have_any_experience_with_canyon_headset/) and I was noticing that is way less serious as it seems, btw I’d like to understand if it’s rideable or not (even if I already tried on road and seems just fine) and if I need to order a new one on the Canyon website. Thanks in advance!

If you mean torquing up the top cap, that really doesn’t need much – like at all.
Although there is a torque rating, a good way is to get a long T handle and spin it just until you feel it get taught by holding the edges the the wrench with 2 fingers gently
As long as there is plenty of preload on the headset I would say that it’s rideable, but I would change that top cap out soon if you can. Those plastic canyon ones are a nightmare. They crack and the bolts will sink in/not hold preload. Only kicker is: I think canyon uses a weird size bolt and starnut/compression plug so you’ll have to replace all of it together
