  1. Shhh! You've just gone and ruined it 😮 A secret place for pros and those in the know! Not any more. Calpe: Another blighted tourist trap on the Med – thanks to Dave.

  2. David i just been on the same time as you. And we stay at the same hotel is well nice to see you in real life . And calpe was amazing roads are absolutely 10/10 not as in uk for sure weather in January ❤ can’t ask for more .

  3. Great video! I'm there now – we live in Ronda (Málaga) and come out here in Jan-Feb to avoid the cold in the mountains where we live. Always see a ton of pros. However, I've not had the experience you speak of, of having the roads all to yourself. There are A TON(NE) of cyclists here! Not that it's a bad thing, but I'd love to see your Strava to find out where you're going and not seeing anyone! Also, we've been getting reports from the more popular cycling cafes that the pro teams are starting to look for other places to do winter training on account of how many amateurs are 'in the way' here, hanging on their wheels, slowing their interval training on popular climbs, etc. So, yeah, it's great here, but I'd the above amendments. … Also, we've been coming here for a few years and have stayed in various places along the coastline. This year it's Denia, just up the coast from Calpe, where you don't always have to be going up a hill. Highly recommended. We're here for 5 weeks and would do longer if my wife was a cyclist. Many people come down for months in the winter.

  4. Hello David and thank you for sharing your beautiful experience. We are all envy. All the footage -also on Argonaut ride – are mind-blowing.
Your dog is a star! Real pays attention to you – if not wondering why you are not petting him… All the best! Happy trails all over the World!

  5. Hey David, I'm a professional racing driver Diabetic type 1 and i train there with the Pro team Team Novonordisk and for me its the best place to do some perfect training in preparation for my endurance racing ab¡nd the pros say the same.

  6. Hi David, great video and info. I'm going with my club in May to Denia for 1st mainland cycle trip. At 4.00 minutes in this video you mentioned your favourite climb, I couldn't quite catch what you said, could you tell me what's its called and I will add it to my routes for our trip, please.

  7. Best roads, most coffee shops per havbitant, cheap wine and very good, lots of meat choices, that is why i moved from Canada to Spain 15 yrs ago to increase my volume on the bike

  8. When I moved from Spain to the UK I was shocked by how much worse the roads were. Calpe is indeed a fantastic place.
One thing to note. Can you please stop invading the opposite lane to get a better curve trajectory. It makes ke cringe. It is illegal and dangerous.

  9. Sorry David but I don’t agree that it’s better than Majorca. Yes it’s better than Girona which I found disappointing. But Majorca has so much more character, variety and spectacular views. Perhaps you were not cycling in the best parts of Majorca?

  10. Hi David

  11. Thanks David.
Love cycling Calp area and agree Tudon's climb from Sella is fantastic 50/55 min effort with stunning views and a good lead onto the Confides climb.
