We caught up with Luke from Korg at this year’s event as he introduced the *Multipoly* in desktop and rackmount versions. Luke explained that the new unit offers the same architecture as the original, minus the keys, and it can easily transform between a rackmount or a desktop setup. While the older Monopoly had subtle visual similarities to the vintage MonoPoly, the true connection lies in the round-robin layer feature, which cycles through four layers, akin to the original’s cycling through 4 oscillators.

He highlighted the integration of chaos physics technology, inherited from the Modwave, offering motion-based modulation through a chaos pad and ball mechanic. The unit can produce lush pads with up to 60 voices, demonstrating its synthesis power. Expect it in stores in the coming months with a similar price point to its keyboard counterpart, as the exact pricing is still to be confirmed.

  1. I would have perfectly emulated the Mono/Poly first and then built around that. But this has nothing to do with the heritage of the Mono/Poly.

  2. I find these FAR more exciting than Kronos. We are seeing affordable remakes with a lot of real improvements. If you are going to re-release and improve, DO IT! Make it something amazing and modern TECH. Congrats on this one Korg. This I would buy. This in a 61 key version? That would be sweet. The short keyboard is fine though. Price, ability, tactile. See, I still love Korg. Just not your Kronos and fan boys. (troll troll)

  3. One thing I miss is the IPS in Cubase (Atari days) , and id use it for round robin on different sounds on different midi channels…..Love a round robin

  4. Of this series of small format synths, this is definitely my favourite. Besides all the fancy features, the virtual analog oscillators and filters sound excellent.
