  1. This guy took what was a perfectly good bike, removed a bunch of components and is now selling for like 6-10x the reasonable price. Cant believe it!

The fucking text of that post too. If you’re gonna let Instagram gravel hobo patchwork tattoo branding so fully saturate your consciousness around bikes please at least do a better job of imitating the ad copy MY GOD.

  2. I like that they say in the caption that the build isn’t even complete. It reads as “I got bored with this thing but now it can take up space in YOUR storage for $1,000”

  3. Dude is saying it was meant to be a two speed with a double crank but he didn’t even put a front derailleur on it. I would say he’s right that it’s not fully actualized yet.

I doubt he will actualize a grand into his pocket. 50 bucks, maybe.

  4. That’s a bad ass frame, but yeah… big ole nope from me.

Maybe his significant other insisted that he sell one of his bikes and now he can be like, “sorry babe. it still hasn’t sold”

because they spent $150 on a stem, $250 on a fork, and and and and. gotta part it out to get your money back.

It does say OBO. So it’s worth what you want it to be. Shoot him a offer, maybe he takes it

  7. “It has a few quirks, and cosmetically, well, imperfection is its perfection.” This line makes me so angry and I can’t exactly explain why!

He should probably try selling one of his other bikes… assuming they aren’t as half-assed as this one but then he’d probably want even more money.

  9. Trek 990’s are nice frames, nice steel. Be people spend time money and nostalgia into it thinking it’s an investment instead of just a bike.

Might as well see if anyone’s stupid enough to buy it. They’re probably gonna drop the price to $100 in two weeks

  11. “It’s not quite fully actualized.”

For that price, it needs to have forgiven its parents and fully worked through that weird stuff its youth pastor said.

So don’t buy it. Some old bike’s have a cult following and can be sold for much more than original price brand new, especially rare bikes
