So I got new brakes and was about to start installing them. The hose is attached to the caliper, but not to the lever. I notice there is an insert on the lever side, but it looks capped off and I have another one in my packaging. Also, on the lever itself, is the olive and everything all in and I just insert? Please somebody with experience with this help.

They are already filled with fluid. There is a piece of plastic covering the hose side which you remove then insert into the lever side and then tighten everything down.
There are instructions that came with your brakes that explain all of this BTW.
