FYI FTB is more of a cx race bike I think. I had an older model which was specifically for cx, not sure about the newer versions. It’s nice but maybe not more than $800-1000 if it were me. They don’t sell that well because VD is not as well known. Their graphics and colors are also a little less mainstream.

Get rid of the those eggbeaters and you’ve got yourself a $1500 rig

$4000 brand new in 2018, I’d probably give no more than $800-$900 for it.

What are those pedals?

If you value your bits, you may want to make sure that seatpost is a real Canyon/Ergon seat post and not a Chinese knock off.
Or maybe you are a gambler. Your call!
Edit: I think I see a faint Ergon logo in one of the photos. Still worth checking though!

Great CX racer if that’s your thing, but not a great gravel bike if you want anything wider than 38mm tires… which I wouldn’t want anything less than 45-50.
Best solution: buy it and race CX, but also get a gravel bike!

Van Dessel is a legit brand. Kind of budget boutique US brand. A little like an Alchemy or Allied without the eye popping price tag. Pretty sure they’re made in Taiwan. The drivetrain is a bit underwhelming for the frame quality, but if you’re not too concerned about weight, it should be a stiff racer. Like others have mentioned, not the best choice if you value compliance or tire clearance. I’d say up to $1200 is still a pretty good deal. $800 would be a steal.
