Hello there,

I am going to buy my first bike soon. After long research my decision fell on the canyon endurace cf7 axs. I already took a test drive with the AXS and enjoyed it very much. However, now Canyon droped a version with the Shimano 105 Di2, which is 600g lighter and comes with Carbon wheels for only 200€ more (Those are the only differnces). And now I am unsure which one I should get. I would highly appreciate your thought on this. Thanks in advance.

Spend the couple extra $$$ and go above either the 105 of the rival. Trust me you will notice the difference. It’s not just weight savings it’s so much better in the shifting. Worth the extra few. As for which one after that, which ever is on sale for a better price at the time, either Ulta or Force….

  2. Any Di2 or AXS group set will work pretty much flawlessly. No need to overthink it. Personally, I prefer SRAM these days but if I had to choose between both bikes I’d opt for Di2 version because it comes with much, much better wheels for a really small cost. Those DT Swiss Endurance LN are very heavy and should be upgraded sooner rather than later in my opinion. The ERC 1600 on the other hand is a very capable OEM wheel set that’s pretty much the same as the retail ERC 1400 (which cost ~1400 € alone) but with a different hub, which isn’t a problem but explains the relatively small price increase.

TL;DR: Both groups are great. Get the bike with the (much) better wheels.

The ERC 1600 is a combination oth rims from the ERC 1400 and the hubs from the ER1600
