  1. It’s a very good bicycle, built by Miyata and probably equivalent to a Miyata 912. This one is probably from 1984 or ’85. Those lug cutouts were a sign of a quality bike from Univega, as on their Miyata counterparts they had a “M” shaped cutout in the same area. I think those cutouts only appeared on the Miyata 912 and better, so whenever you see that cutout on a Miyata or Univega, you know that it’s an upper-level frame.

$55 is a great price, and this bike is absolutely worth restoring. Take good care of it!

  2. Give it a clean, some new tires, new bar tape, and take off all of the random accessories

  3. Great groupset, one of my favorites (and the first Shimano groupset with index shifting IIRC). Shimano 600 is the predecessor to Ultegra.

Clean it up, tune it up, and ride it.

  4. Other than consumables (tires, cables & housings, brake pads, chain, etc.) All I would change are put some aero brake levers on it while replacing the cables and bar tape. Pedals too I guess.

Beyond that? Just clean, lube, and adjust. Ride it

Are you in Utah by chance? I was following this or one very similar on the classified ads.
