We’ve had storm Eowyn with us in Northern Ireland from the early hours. Looking out of our windows in the Castlereagh hills it doesn’t appear too bad. There aren’t too many trees down. There is little visible storm damage round us just an abundance of leaves twigs and broken branches. There is even sunshine but try venturing outside and it is quite a different matter.
If you are silly enough like me to try it, you will come close to being blown off your feet. The winds are constantly gusting. Walking, cycling and motorcycling, are very dangerous. Car driving ……well you are still taking a huge chance. I have seen very few cars on our roads.
I’m told that these winds can unexpectedly gust to up to 100mph. That’s easily enough to topple a high sided vehicle. Remember you are not invincible. Winds should die down by teatime.
Here is my wee video. I hope you are good where you are.
