Just a casual rider so my knowledge on bikes isn’t much. Was out riding one day and felt a crunching sensation coming directly from my right pedal. At first, I thought it was something with my chain since it was on the same side of the pedal. I couldn’t see anything wrong with chain so I kept going. Luckily I wasn’t far from home but it would still occasionally make that crunch. Once I got home and carefully looked at it, I noticed the issue was my pedal. The bearings are hanging out and the pedal is loose. Even the end cap popped off. My question is, is this an easy fix where I could just replace the pedals? I have an extra set that came with the bike. Or should I take it to my local shop to have them check it out?

Swapping pedals would definitely be the easiest fix.
Your bearings broke so you could spend ages trying to figure out what size bearing you need and buying replacements or just getting new pedals
