That same German forum thread shows a catalog scan with a 1989 DX-5000 in “purpur/schwarz metallic.” The decal style is consistent with the 1989 US version. I know they mentioned the serial number pointing to 1989 for your bike (decal style consistent with a 1987 DX-5000), but still.
