Thanks for watching! Have you ever had a total GPS navigation fail or is it just daft old me? π. Ps. I was still not fully recovered from flu on this ride and developed a temperature the day after.. So I will throw that excuse in there…
Nice video and what an adventure. To beat the bonk I usually take a banana and always keep a museli bar in my bike bag just in case. It's 44 celcius here today …whew.
It's either a real dog or a fake puma.
That boggy section looked tough. I've found myself in some right pickles out on my bike. By the time you've got there, you've gone too far to turn back, but you've still got so far to go. Stuck in the middle of a grassy muddy trap.
The feeling of finally getting out back on to firm ground (which we all take for granted) makes up for it though (maybe).
Iβll type as I watch the video x x x

Great video including my local riding area and looked like a great day to be out. I live in Norden so Rooley Moor/Cragg Quarry are fairly regular features of my rides (Less often Lee Quarry as the climb back up is a right slog as you know). Love to see owls when out riding, saw a barn owl when riding back along Greenbooth after work one afternoon when the evenings were light and was very surprised as I though they were nocturnal but that made made day too.
I sometimes try to find different routes off the tracks I'm used to but try to pre plan them a little like yourself on Komoot as much as possible and it's 50/50 on the moors as to if they will be an exhausting muddy bog fest or a great addition to future rides. Some of the boggy routes can be great too once (if) the trails dry out for summer but best avoided most of the rest of the year so.
Love your video man!!!πͺπ€©
