How much of a problem will this broken tooth be as it doesn’t seem to interact with the chain causing extra wear? Because I don’t think the rest of the chainring is worn enough for replacement.
Help is much appreciated!
Not an expert, but I’d say the whole ring should be replaced for a smoother ride and to prevent further wear on the chain that will in turn wear out the back cassette.
It might be due to the lighting, but other teeth seem to be pretty blunt as well. How many kms you have on this ring?

I’d say that ring is done. It looks pretty worn anyway. All it takes is for everything to align and to throw the chain etc at speed. A new ring is literally a few tens of USD or GBP to potentially prevent a massive crash.

First, make sure it’s an actual broken tooth and not designed this way to help shifting. There should be other teeth with the same shape at regular intervals around the ring. If it _is_ different from all the others, then yeah replace the chainring and the chain

nah man that thing is looking crispy even without the missing toof, unless 11 speed profiles are shark finned out the box..it’d get you home but its probably not doing your chain any favors.

Alright thanks for all of the replies, I will definitely replace the rings! I have ridden it for around 3500km and I bought the bike second hand so it has seen more than that. (Will also replace chain and cassette to not wear out the new chainrings too much)

now sure why there is even a need to ask. just get a new one.

That crank is a brick anyway, replace with 105 or Ultegra
