I’m mostly looking to keep debris from getting into the ports. I actively avoid riding in the rain. And the light is very weather proofed.
What could be a downside of this??

Looks pretty cool. But I’ve been running a Sinewave for about five years in Seattle — we get a little rain occasionally— and regularly ride in precipitation and haven’t had any issues with water/debris in ports.
