Whats up with Vittoria Gravel Tyres?
Are they actually this bad. Think I've done about 600k on these Terreno Dry tyres and the sidewall is absolutely disintegrating and refusing to hold air in places.
I think these lightweight ones are not very durable. I had a bit heavier TLR with some extra sidewall protection and they lasted me a very long time, I think 3500km.

Most tanwalls especially light casing ones bleed on the sidewall

Haven’t used them on a gravel bike but if they’re anything like the mtb tires then they aren’t overly sturdy. The rubber compound wasn’t confidence inspiring anyway but I tore a good size hole in one on the second ride while setting up a new bike on a relatively mild trail. Felt the same, sidewalls had very little to them compared to other tires.

The tan one is indeed not durable. I‘ve got one on my stock topstone and had leckage at the exact same position. The current black sidewall one has zero issue till now.

I’ve had bad experience with Vittoria Randonneur. Stated coming apart after 3000 km.

sometimes! but they need to have like date of manufactured, since the sidewall does do that! happened to my 29×2.1 & 2.25 sets

I had some terreno zero skin walls that didn’t hold up well at all. Sidewall was leaking badly before tread was very worn. The grey sidewall tires seem to hold up better. I’ve used them for CX at low pressures with zero issues. I won’t be buying the tan sidewalls again.

You km matters way less than the age for skin wall tires. They have no carbon black in the sidewall, making them really suseptible to uv damage. If they are more than a year old and stored in sunlight at all or you live somewhere sunny and hot, this wouldn’t confuse me at all.

zero issues with my Vittorias on road, gravel, or MTB. All tan wall, all tubeless and all using orange seal. And I ride in typically hot and dry environments where sidewalls and sealant tend to not fair well over time.

Is that Bontrager sealant?

Victoria’s are race tires. Lightweight and thin. Road tires same thing. Will not hold up over time. But great if you are gram searching,
