Strange! The frame geometry is the same, are components the same? Primarily the seat post. It might be different, allowing a different saddle height.
The neuron sizing chart is a joke. I happily rode a large stoic, ride a large spectral now but the large neuron felt much smaller. Many locals told me at 185cm I should’ve been on xl already for the neuron specifically. It’s geared to more old fashioned cross country reach and effective top tube I think.
Probably better to testride. On the XL your seatpost would be all the way in because of your short legs.. so I’d guess L is better. Impossible to tell what you prefer. You could always put a longer stem on the L if you find it’s too short though.
