Just a rant. Im 6’3-4 and generally only buy 23” frames. This is a 22”. Even with 23” frames, 26” wheels start to look like 18” and the whole bike starts to look really dinky lol. Very few bikes get the top tube long enough and this one in particular could be 2-3 inches longer. I’m tall, but not weirdly tall and a decent amount of guys are around my height.

I’m 6’2″ and I don’t find that I completely dwarf [my 26″ commuter](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2CHWif8RIo&t=87s). I do run 2.3″ tires which blow up almost the same size as my 650Bx48’s on my gravel bike.
I’m 6’4 and when I finally got a 29er it felt amazing! Forever wishing I could run 29 on 90s MTB frames 😭
Have you gotten a proper bike fit? I would go somewhere and speak with an expert.

Once you hit the 6’3 level, you start running into tall people problems.
You might be happier on a hybrid bike, or a steel cyclocross bike. Ive got the charge filter cx bike with some 33mm tyres and its pretty good
I can’t ride 29er frames. So… we’re even.
Find a bike with 700C wheels. It will be a better fit.
It will vary depending on brand/model. I have had a bunch of larger frames and the top tubes were anywhere from 22″ to 24″ long.
The entry level stuff will sometimes be on the shorter side of things. More XC race bike high end stuff will be longer, but usually much shorter stack height.
6’1 or 6’2
Got my first 26″ this summer – Surly Troll set up with V brakes and 26″ wheels – just not meshing with it. Thankfully it has disc mounts and can easily fit 700/29, although I really like the v brakes on it, I think I’m gonna add discs and make the swap
I’m 6’2″ and my 26r is perfect! Must be the longer frame.
This is a pretty typical causal ATB set up for the era.
The proper 90s NORBA MTB fit for someone out size (I’m 6’2) would be a 24” top tube and a 130-150mm stem.

I’m in the same boat. I’m going to try changing out the handlebars to surly sunrise bars. They should add an extra couple inches of vertical height to make it a bit more comfortable
6’5″ here, so I get where you’re coming from.
The 29’ers are a good and reasonably priced way to go, just make sure they have at least an XL or XXL frame or a 24″ or longer top tube.
If you can afford it, get a 32’er, or a 36’er, and built by Dirty Sixer. They build bikes for guys well over 7′ tall. They don’t just make bigger frames with small wheels, they build large frames, rated for tall and heavier riders, while making them proportionally larger so they look right too.

I’m shorter and I still look mighty tall on most of my 26″ bikes. I never had a problem with that. They ride just fine and I feel fine for long rides . I don’t care about optics of it.
I’m quite tall and 29ers are a godsend for me. It’s nice to have a bike that looks proportionate.
