The French Riviera – or Côte d’Azur – in southeastern France has long been a Mecca for professional cyclists from the likes of Chris Froome to Peter Sagan so just why is it so popular? I went in search of the answers…

  1. Awesome video as always David! I live in the middle of America so we don't have anything like this in terms of road riding. We are very fortunate to have some incredible gravel in basically all directions though! Btw, what are those shades?!

  2. Flipping heck, that looks a bit lush !!!
As for climbing, I'm lucky to get over 1000 feet in 40 odd miles around Peterborough UK !!! Strong winds all year round though especially in the fens…As for Nice, I'd be running a massive range cassette on those hills…..What are hills ?

  3. Very good video and scenes. Very convincing arguments but Spain has become more popular. I would argue because I live in Spain and i see many training groups especially in Calpe (Spain). Spain is safer for cyclist, more coffee shops, less traffic, cheaper for food/hotels. Another cycling bucket list.

  4. I have lived in France for the past 3 years now but with a young family, business and Covid I haven’t been able to see many parts of France for cycling, was never really interested in Nice before but David has changed my mind and I really want to go now.

  5. David! Thank you for this. I'm locating from the US to the UK in a month. How often would you say you hop across to Europe to ride your bike in these beautiful riding havens in Europe?
