Donald Trump has promised to conduct “the largest deportation effort in American history,” no matter what it costs—but the price tag may be bigger than expected.
In today’s video we look at a history of US border control and the economic costs of deporting more than six percent of the US workforce while the US workforce ages.

If they deport Donald Trump and Elon Musk things will get back to normal again. Donald Trump married to immigrants. I don’t know what he has against immigrants. His mother was an immigrant from Scotland. It’s hard to figure out crazy and you can’t fix stupid.
My concern with immigration is that's the middle class is fading from excisitance largly due to housing cost. If we could have immigration with a specific intent to build homes and reduce costs and measurably strengthen the middle class that would be a win. If not then taking on the needs of 1.6 million illegal immigrants a year is a problem and we need to get our oxygen mask on first before we can focus on saving people from other countries issues.
There aren't enough case workers to properly process deportations. People are going to last months and maybe even years in deportation camps. Even with legal workers, there's a 30 year backlog on case processing.
All of his arguments only make sense if your approaching this from a dedicated internationalst perspective. They see nations as nothing but economic zones.
Thank you.
I wouldn't place any bets on what Trump will do, but he could absolutely enact his plan without extra funding. Step 1, declare emergency or whatever. Step 2, order FEMA to set up 'deportation camps'. Step 3, deputize his magat horde to grab anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant and drag them to one of the camps. It would serve his purposes best if it's very messy. That would distract everyone from realizing that the camps in Germany were for 'deportation' too in the beginning.
Let's see whether it would actually happen, which I doubt very much.
The truth is most Americans are too poor for legal immigrantion to impact them and not poor enough for illegal immigrants to impact them.
Financially, I honestly don't see how these deportations make any sense at all, from any angle. The only ones that might would be deporting only people who have serious criminal records. What effectively seems to be happening is we're going to be deporting a lot of construction workers and farm hands
Not mentioned in the video is how the Biden open border has allowed terrorist cells into the country, or increased flow of fentanyl. Kind of a big deal. As the cartels have evolved they've become human traffickers. It's their biggest source of income now. How are the countries these people are coming from going to improve if the people with the balls to make the journey here leave? Not to mention 95%+ of the asylum claims are fake.
Legalize tax paying, law abiding and hard working illegal immigrants. Secure the border and deport the rest. Pass legislation to offer yearly and temporary work visas as labor needs adjust.
So apparently the only way to judge illegal immigration is economically. To consider cultural and racial characteristics is akin to being a Nazi. No! We should give Homan everything he needs.
What if you didn't actually need to deport many people. Just make a show with a few, maybe tens of thousands. How convenient to cow the rest of the migrant population, to be even more compliant, and cheaper to use. Sadism can be quite profitable.
Illegal Aliens, NOT Undocumented Workers! The rebranding of this is such an offensive and insulting attempt at undermining language, understanding, sentiment, and culture. And a it's basically worked.
That being said, the immigration visa and courts systems have been equally broken for decades.
It all needs a full Ctrl+Alt+Del and reboot. Which is, yes, mass deportations and fully rebuilt expanded immigration systems & functional boarders.
The one thing everybody likes to glaze over in economics is that all economies / states are dynamic and fluid. Shocks happen, the systems will adapt. The body politic just needs to figure out in which direction it wants to adapt.
America does not "need" immigrants to continue "thriving" (is that when asset owners get wealthy at the exense of everyone else)?
Labor is not in tight supply. Good wages are in tight supply
It’s a very complex problem. If anyone is too happy to deport (or to not), is either racist or uneducated.
It's wild to me that Trump supporters have been bitching about inflation and are now going to get a lot more of it but it will be a good kind of inflation. For some reason they think that their wages are going to go up to counteract the inflation😂 no such thing will happen
I will have a Job. I don’t see anything negative
1 thing being said and another being done, they are getting benefits, you are lying!!!
If I were to go to Mexico illegally, would the Mexicans accept me with open arms?
Such a great segment. From this Yankee to the Smoothest Irishmen, my thanks
You completely miss the key points – first why blame the cost of cleaning up the mess on the person trying clean up – as opposed to blaming those who let them in? Second, you also don’t cover the economic benefit of removing even a small portion of aliens will discourage future illegal crossings – it reduces the appeal to those considering. Lastly, if everything you state about the benefits of immigrants is true – that is great. Remove the aliens and look to have a legal process of providing visas for those sorts of roles. You receive all the same economic benefits by utilizing a controlled process but have less negative social impact by having a strong border. That is a clear win win.
Pls do video on Hindenburg research,, they are shutting down
