  1. I figured I’d take a chance and order a couple “Polso” hubs since they are so cheap. They have a couple different ones with very little specs listed and not much to go on other than disc and bmx width. What the hell, it’s a experiment at this point.

I ordered a 14mm 9t setup and it looks pretty good. It’s a 3 pawl mechanism and is real quiet. I’m probably going to use this one and see how it goes.

I also ordered a cassette style disc hub, which comes with a 16t cog. I ordered and an equally dubious 9t driver thinking they’re probably all made in the same factory anyway. The cassette version is 3/8” female type. It comes with a cassette driver that has 4 pawls and is real noisy. I know some like that. It sounds pretty good if that’s your thing. The dubious 9t driver I ordered is 6 pawl.

Sure enough the driver slips right in. Like, all of it works, even swapping the dust shield. I’m sure this is by design, but I don’t think I could find it for sale as is. It’s more quiet than the 4 pawl, but more noisy than the other hub.

Thought this may interest someone out there.
