So I cracked the steerer tube on my everyday bike; I believe it to be a ~1971 Peugeot PR10.
I’m trying to find a replacement fork and purchased a 28” fork but the legs are too long to work with my brakes. I get that it works out to be 711mm vs 700mm which is pretty much what it’s off.
The problem is when I look for 27.5” I get mountain bike forks and 700c is giving me forks listed as 27/28 which I’m afraid of getting one like I already have.
Is there a more specific or nuanced designation I should be searching for?

Search for a fork based on your wheel size. If you need to measure, measure from the axle to the brake mount. A pencil and a string work well for measuring that distance
