    Not positive if this will work, but it’s what I’d do:

    Loosen the bolt all the way, soak that corner in hot water, weigh it down to dry

    I am too lazy to get out into the shed to have a look at my bike, cause I had a root canal this morning and it is freezing cold.

    But when I look at that picture, are you sure you went into the right direction? The nut should move to the back where you still have lots of thread left as the bolt will be pushed outward then pulling the leather taught.

    If the bolt does rotate with the nut, you need to grab it with pliers to stop that.
