  1. Easily fixable at a quality shop. When installing anything threaded, make sure you grease the make and female threads, turn the item counter-clockwise slowly till you feel the start of the thread drop into place, then turn clockwise by hand, try not to touch a tool till you’ve gotten 3 or 4 full turns in by hand. If you can’t get more than 2 by hand you’re cross threading, unscrew and try again.

  2. You could also chase the threads yourself with another BB… Take an old or new BB and cut some chaser grooves in it with die grinder just like a Tap would have and start threading it working it in and out in small increments applying cutting oil as you go.
