Rollercoaster of an FB Marketplace bmx buy (bought from an odd fellow)

I’ll boil this down because I tend to ramble.

Basically saw a super bad condition bmx with Fubars on it, offered $130 CAD for it (only interest was Fubars, United stem and crank arms) guy accepted. Put it in my car in the dark, gave him money, didn’t look at bike properly because I’m an idiot…about to close the tailgate and guy says “yeah someone offered me $10 to swap bars with him so it’s different bars but I updated the price and the pics”.

It supposedly was a WTP with MacNeil forks. I still don’t know what the frame is.

Except he didn’t. And he seemed maybe high as fuck, and VERY dirty, and to be honest I basically wrote off the money at that point. Came home, told him I only bought it for the bars, would he buy it back for $100 and keep the $30 for his trouble. No answer. Also realized the United stem was swapped too. Not there.

Fast forward to today. I totally tore the bike apart. Rusted looseball everything, rusted chain, 40 layers of spray paint, Haro wheels with skinny ass tires… But then I discovered a little word stamped into the thick brown spray paint on the forks. “ODYSSEY”. Steerer tube etched “2003 05”.

The pedals seem to be vintage Odyssey Trail Mix. Cranks are in good condition. Bars are actually 10″ tall or just shy of it. I can use them.

And wtf is this 44T “Free Fall” Heavy Metal Steel sprocket? Anyone seen this before?
