inside the cable guide is a small extra piece of metal from the frame that wasn’t properly smoothed out during manufacturing, so now the ferrel can’t go all the way in …. can I get a ferrel that will fit the housing diameter but be a bit smaller / more malleable? I thought of sanding down the extra material inside the guide but it’s pretty hard to get at …..
the second photo shows that the lack of full engagement of the ferrel in the guide can affect the braking tension

Same in my bike, just get rid if this silver thing and use only black cable

Don’t use it
