I am looking forward to purchasing this older Affinity Metropolitian (yes the one from Premium Rush) but it has a 1" fork and an ahead system
Which brands still make 1" ahead stems? I know about these fancy cinelli ones with the open and colourfuk design, but those are sadly out of my budget
I am from Germany, any recommendations for 1" ahead stem? Second hand there are not great options either…

shim
See [bluelug](https://global.bluelug.com/fairweather-mt-31-side-clamp-stem-silver.html)! Cheaper option would be a shim to 1 1/8″ , and a conventional stem. Though I’d recommend a 25.4 or 26mm bar clamp instead to match the frame. 31.8 bars may look disproportionate imo
You could just used a 1” to 1 1/8” shim
I’d also go for the shim option and then maybe something like a ritchey classic if you wanna go with a silvery look
I used this one on my kilo tt.

The mt-31 stem from nitto is absolutely gorgeous, you can find them on bluelug. Bit pricey but worth it imo, it’s so pretty.
Nitto NJ-89 is the best that’s still made imo. Blue lug carries a black version of it too.

There are always a ton of cool vintage 1” threadless stems on eBay.
Here’s a shop for vintage MTB parts with plenty of 1″ ahead stems:
