poor ol malcolm elliot trying to string a few words of complaint together ?? when the entire field was on a dubious performance enhanced dietary regime kettle calling the (pocket rocket) pan "black" was so amusing ..bike racing will always be corrupt !
I still have my programmes from these Kellogg's Tours of Britain. My partner and I would sneak out of work and drive to wherever was the nearest place that the race passed. In one edition I remember Jimmy Saville sitting in one of the publicity vehicles that preceded the race. Oh, how times have changed
The one race all year that Fagor had Roche on form and the 'dream team' all together and firing. A shame it all fell apart, effectively shortly after when Millar, Yates, Elliot et al. all left, they'd had a pretty stellar year in Roche's absence.

I remember going to the final stage, seeing Stephen Roche in his rainbow jersey and talking to Joey McLaughlin afterwards 😊

Good memories. I was at the London stage.
