Trek Madone 5.2 from 2011, this would be my first road bike. Sellers listed for $800 but it’s been there forever. Would $500 be fair/good price? Seller says the bike is 25” in the listing, not sure what that’s referencing. When I asked I guess he checked something and mentioned the bike is best for 5’11”-6’2”. I’m 6’0”.

    1. Is $500 a good price? Carbon bike worries me bc what if it’s cracked and a noob like me won’t know how to check.

    2. How can I figure out if size is right? I got sized at local bike store for an Emonda SL6 and the one for me was 56cm.

You should figure out what size it is, really. It looks like a 60 which would be too big for you but if it is a 58cm that might work if you don’t mind stretching out a bit more than on the 56cm Emonda you tried. $500 is an OK deal for this bike but be careful with carbon. Inspect the frame completely and look for damage in the tire rub areas, behind the chainrings, and around the headtube. If it looks like a crack it probably is. That having been said, these things can last fairly long if taken care of.
