I’m looking at buying my son his first bike with gears and I could use some help on deciding. So far it’s between Trek Precaliber 20 7-speed and REI Co-OP 20 6 speed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which one is lighter? Kids absolutely do not need the front suspension. I own the pre-caliber and it’s a good kids bike, but I would prefer they had opted for a rigid fork to save weight.
