Using this bike for shopping trips, especially as a first time Brompton owner, is an absolute delight. Being able to forget about taking a bike lock and not having to mess about with lights is a real game changer.

After being unimpressed with the wheels included on the advanced roller rack for G Line, especially after pushing the bike around the cobbled streets of Birmingham city centre whilst walking with a friend, I switched out the wheels for 100mm scooter wheels with 24mm width.
The installation is pain free, just requires an Allen key to remove the existing wheels, the existing washers and bolts that the old wheels sat on can continue to be used with the next wheel.
It’s made pushing the bike around so much easier and makes me much more confident that it won’t collapse on itself, which feels more likely than not on the existing advanced roller rack wheels. Pushing the bike around after this upgrade feels like pushing a proper shopping trolley, extremely sturdy and stable. The new wheels have no impact on the fold nor on the seat post clamp.
Like others on this subreddit have said, the bulkiness of the bike when combined with its weight really means you don’t want to have to carry it for too long, if it can be avoided.
This upgrade cost £52 in total and I’m sure there are less garish options out there, I just went with the best reviewed option on Amazon
