  2. I don’t think it’s a common thing most manufacturers list. It also doesn’t matter at all unless you cut your steerer too short.

  3. It’s 40mm on the Redshift. Generally for any stem you can assume it’s 40mm. I have about 20 stems and only one isn’t 40, and that’s actually thinner at about 35mm stack height.

  5. They all vary by slight amounts. It is not really a big deal though.

    If you get a new stem and its stack height is lower than the one it is replacing you might have trouble preloading the headset. You’ll just need a longer spacer or maybe an extra 2-5mm spacer to pick up the difference. Sometimes the LBS will just give you one free if you’re in this situation.
