  1. Oke, thanks. I'm building a bike for the flats and thinking of 45/16. When i use a gear calculator it looks almost simular.

    I, and we, used to ride with 48/15, but then the cadence is rather low and bad for your knees (specially going up).
    Now it's easier to make 35/40Km/h with 100-110rpm.

    I destroy my knees this year when cycle Liege-Bastogne-Liege (270k) (+ 250k from home to liege and back). A bit a shame i did it with a tripple crank.. Now my knees are fine and I start cycle again and practise with a higher cadence.
