So i recently purchased a Trek fuel ex 8 roughly 3 weeks ago. Have used the bike twice in that time frame and ended up with a creaking which seems very normal.
Ended up trying to locate the noise to grease and or re tighten but in my checks i have found the new style. Chain guide bracket to be rubbing against the swingarm, this is factory installed by Trek.
Now i understand that bikes will get scratched over time but something kinda rubs me over it.
Shop is currently emailing Trek for advice on what to do but im more trying to find out if i should be kicking up a big stink or not.
Any help appreciated cheers. Picture with the copper coloured frame is how the guide is meant to be mounted. Mine was mounted with the spacers on each side instead of 1 side.

Wait for the response from trek. If it can’t be fixed they will make you whole. Having worked in a LBS trek generally will just give you a new bike if needed lol.
I rode my bike and bashed it into some rocks. Think that’s covered under warranty?
I’ve only ever heard positive things from people about Trek’s warranty process. The experiences I had were always very positive when I owned one. I imagine Trek will take good care of this.
Scratching up your frame because you overshot a jump or crashed in a rock garden is one thing. A 3 week old bike getting messed up from a poor fitting or poorly installed part from the factory is not acceptable. See what the response is and then escalate accordingly. I would assume they’ll take care of you though.
I’m no Trek warranty expert but, it doesn’t life threatening.
My trek marlin blew a rear brake calliper a few months after I purchased it. Took it to my lbs, 2 weeks later trek approved a complete Shimano brake upgrade front and rear. Best warranty I’ve ever dealt with for a bicycle. Be patient with your lbs.
2 rides in 3 weeks and your chain looks like that 😫 bruh
