  1. Interesting to see the old St. Johns station remains. We reversed goods train and later worked stone trains around into Bedford midland station for a round trip from Didcot to Leagrave stone sidings then return via Acton Canal and Acton Wels junction down onto the Western mainline. Quite a long around trip. I recall the time when an Up midland line express failed right along side us at Leagrave and we used our Western Hydraulic loco to take the express into St. Pancreas station then light engine back to Leagrave to work our stone train empties back to Didcot. The failed Midland engine was a 'Peak'.

  2. nature reserve not far from where i overturned my moggi thousand on the hill from cardington when i skidded on ice. Also at that time cardington pub used to have a miniture railway running round the grounds and the air ships were being built at the sheds at cardington too. Caroline.

  3. Very interesting video.
    The way the brickwork is blowing in the tunnel looks like heavy ground pressure overloading the lining. Doesn't bode very well for its future…
