Picked up a 23’ SJ EVO Comp. S3. My old bike is a 13’ HardRock sport 29er Med.

I love the bike. It’s super nice but man the handle bars are wide on it. Is this just the norm for modern bikes? I’m considering swapping the bars from my HardRock. Thoughts?
