Rotterdam, since being flattened in World War 2 was rebuilt for the car. Despite the cities efforts to try and increase cycling numbers it still far behind Amsterdam and other Dutch Cities and can still be seen as quite a car friendly city. On the other hand London has seen massive growth in the cycle network and is now one of the best places to cycle in the UK. So today we will compare one of the worst Dutch cycling city with the UK’s best. Using Not just bikes +1 -2 scoring system. One point will be awarded for every aspect that makes cycling more pleasant or safer while 2 points will be deducted for every negative aspect. We will be comparing a route from each of the city centres to Ikea with a distance of both around 9 miles (14km) using the best and safest route available.

No, you have to go back to London, it's your home
Here we are in Parliament Square, illegally cycling on the pavement. -2 points for breaking the law.
You can put a trafficlight, just for a pedestrian crossing, in the Netherlands. But it will be ignored by all.
And rightfully so.
And this is London. Have a ride outside of London. In many places councils are only just identifying which are the primary and secondary routes for walking and cycling. Or have a 20 year plan to implement a cycle route which still encompasses roads and junctions .
