Maybe it’s impossible to tell from this vid, but I don’t think I did anything drastically different on that last jump compared to the first two.

Maybe I need to pedal somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd jumps? Or maybe I need to pump harder on that smaller double between the two?

Took me all morning to get comfortable enough on the first two to hit that last one and that fall hurt pretty bad. But I need to get back out there and conquer it.

Newb question: why did I come up so so short on last jump (cased front tire) when I cleared the first two easy?

  1. There’s this thing, someone else can name that thing. I just call it a let loose and go for it. You can tell you’re trying to “not”, instead of just going all out. Trying to not fall, trying to not mess up, trying to not get hurt, etc…

You need to carry more speed through the whole set. Doesn’t have to be a ton, but to play it safe I’d put a few extra cranks in before the first and after the second and then make adjustments

Some jumps have a different lip some is pump others are push through or pull more so find which one of those three work

You’re keeping your legs way too stiff as you hit the jump; you should have your knees bent through the flats and then straighten them as you move up the jump pushing the bike forward, then relax, let the jump throw you up and pull the bike up closer to you. Then on landing absorb some of the impact with your knees and then while still on the landing push the bike down and forwards again to change gravity into forward speed.

You’re nose-divng the landings which is great (lots of people find that hard/scary), but you’re too stiff on the bike in the air – what we used to call a “dead sailor”.

Mostly it’s just practice and more
speed, the more you ride, the better and smoother you’ll get.

  5. Went a bit rigid on the last transition, you had pretty good flow on the first few, just have to continue that into the last one (which can be scary on bigger jumps).

  6. None of your 4 jumps gave me confidence in your abilities. Not trying to be an asshole, I just think you need to practice the smaller jumps more

You cleared the first two, and it was not easy, you almost missed them by a few inches
