I ordered a Shimano XT CS-M8100 Cassette 12-Speed, and FedEx took the box through hell. Two of the teeth pushed through the box and were subsequently damaged.
It is marginal damage, and I am thinking that if I file away the metal where it is catching it should be okay? The cog still appears to be true and not bent.
I can get a replacement, but it’s a big hassle as I got it in a country where I am currently on holiday and might miss the replacement shipment. I cannot post it to my home country either.
Would apprecaite the help of those more experienced. Thanks!

That’s a brand new cassette. Return it to the retailer before you ride it. It will ruin your chain too.

Replace. Unusable.

If it were any middle cog I would say nope, it’s done. Since it’s the outer one, I think filing it down would work (and realistically, if it doesn’t, just don’t shift into it) the main concern is that your chain will skip, so you will know very quickly whether or not it is an issue.

If absolutely can’t replace it then I would try to ask the shop if they can just ship the damaged chainring to your home country. If not then file it off or replace only the big chainring by yourself.

Yeah. Bend it file it. Getting it as close a profile to the others as possible. Many cogs, chain ring have altered tooth profiles to aid shifting in particular places. So it’s not an uncommon design choice. Usually it more than a single tooth doing the work as well and as it’s a low gear it tends to be more reliable than the small high gear one.
So it’s probably OK if filed or just gently bent back but test carefully under less power

Brand new? I’d try to return it. If for some reason impossible/impractical? Pliers and a file.

Why wouldn’t you return it if it’s brand new and you have the option to do so? If it was used you could file it, there would be no issues.

No. File/ clip them off. No harm to the cog, but it could prevent a tragedy.
