Great stuff. That was some distance for an old boy with a wonky knee. Glad you showed some sense by walking up one or two hills. Love the filming and the comments. Happy New Year and happy cycling in 2025.
That was spectacular i thought we had some great moorland in the peak district but that was breath taking. I suppose with the bad knee you won`t be attempting the Pennine bridleway again at any time ?.
It seems that a place of worship always arrives just when you need a picnic stop, and you seem to find some lovely ones. Cycle touring and church-going are very compatible. Another way to navigate obstacles like the narrow bridge next to the ford is to tip the bike up vertically on the back wheel, after removing panniers, and push it from behind – this brings the handlebars up clear of the sides and allows easier progress. Nice scenery on this section, and quiet roads – ideal for cycling.
