As the title suggests, I’m working with a Trek 820 that only has fender mounts.
I’ve narrowed down a few front rack/basket options that seem to work around this limitation, but I’d like to hear opinions on their durability and strength based on the different mounting methods:
– Manivelle Rack: Can be mounted to the fender eyelets or directly to the axle.
– Pelago Rack: Designed for fender mounting.
– Fender/Rack Adapter from Blue Lug: Allows you to attach any rack via the fender mounts.
Would love to know if anyone has experience with these setups or other suggestions that prioritize durability and load capacity. Thanks!

Soma Lucas 3 mini front rack includes spacers that allow it to be clear the fork when mounted to the fender eyelets.
Shop owner here. I have extensive experience with your second two options and currently own bikes with each. They are both absolutely excellent. The advantage of the Blue Lug/Minoura mount is you can run any rack you want. The disadvantage is it may not fit all fork ends. Pelago is more generally foolproof.
