Always wear a helmet

I was considering going out with just a woolly hat on because it’s so cold. Decided to put my helmet on. Hit a patch of ice. Came off my bike. Rear hanger snapped which I hope has saved my rear derailleur. Cycling tights and jacket and base layer destroyed. Banged my head sideways on the road. Helmet destroyed. What a thud it was and my heads fine.
